We rented bikes for 6 people. Showed up and immediately things were off. We were charged $79 per bike when we booked online. Once we showed up, the prices advertised were $55 per bike. When we asked why we were getting up charged, the guy working there said “ah yes, I remember this booking…” we asked, “so why were we uncharged?” He said we would need to email the manager to try and get a refund for the difference (we reached out, and didn’t get an explanation or a refund…). The bikes were squeaky and 2 of them had bald tires. When we asked if there were any with actual traction, we were told no. We left and tried to follow the map they provided to get to the bike trail going north through vineyards. The laminated map was so poor, we never ended up finding it. We did however find the trail going south. This gave up beautiful views of what looked like section 8 housing and California’s beautiful tent cities under the bridge toward Kennedy park. We decided to cut our losses, and rode back to the store… Half the bikes didn’t have the water bottles, phone holders, snack or lights as advertised. When asked, the answer was “sorry”. And the “wine tasting with each full day rental”… never happened. I’m fine if people screw up, but when we called to try and explain the situation, it was only excuses and eventually being hung up on… If you’re renting the more expensive E-bikes, then maybe it’s a different experience. (We asked if we could upgrade to E-bikes since we were being charged more… the answer was no). This all could’ve been easily avoided with better customer service… but they chose not to. Gonna have to pass on this place…

If you want to feel like a Tour de France champion, but with way better scenery (and possibly a glass of wine in your backpack), rent one of these fat tire bikes! 🚲🍷 I thought the ‘fat’ in fat tire referred to me after a wine tasting or two, but no — it’s the bikes! They glide over gravel, grass, and the occasional questionable cobblestone like butter. I felt like a mix between Lance Armstrong and a toddler on training wheels (in the best way). The staff had me fitted and pedaling faster than you can say ‘Cabernet Sauvignon.’ And let me tell you — biking past vineyards with the wind in your hair makes you feel fancy, even if you’re sweating like you just climbed Mount Everest. Bottom line: 10/10 recommend. My quads may never forgive me, but my soul (and my Instagram feed) sure will.

We had a great experience. The owner was friendly and helpful. It was a reasonable rental amount. He was very nice and shared a ton of information with us to help us enjoy our time in Napa. The bikes are in excellent shape.

Chris was excellent . White glove service in Napa! Our group was amazed at his service. The bikes were great but it was more Chris than anything . Before writing the review I was curious so I looked at rating . No surprise he has all 5 star reviews . We will be back!

I was completely blown away by the exceptional customer service Chris provided. I was planning a birthday ride at some wineries with a group and he assisted in making it a huge success by staying in touch with bike rentals for our party (how many were left, etc.), gave fantastic recommendations for wineries and restaurants, and even helped us with a booking we were having trouble with at on of the local spots. We decided later we thought it would be safer with a guide and we even got help with that and got the best guide we could have asked for who kept us safe and was great company. The bikes were so much fun to ride and our group had a blast. The bikes had water and snacks in the zipper bag and when we returned Chris brought us a bottle Chandon to share. Above and beyond with the details! If you are considering a bike rental, definitely go to Fat Tire Bike Rental. So grateful we did because it made a normal bike day an unforgettably fun birthday celebration.
